All the cliches, well known from the holiday brochures, apply :
pearly white beaches fringed by coconut palm trees, tropical islands
covered in primary forest, clear waters which are outstanding for
diving and snorkeling and a benign climate enabling year- round relaxed
sailing.
Sailing in Thailand one still finds hundreds of
unspoilt idyllic anchorages to choose from. Here no daily battles for a
place in an overcrowded bay, at most places your’s will be the only
yacht in sight. The Thai people are very friendly and
courteous, there is none of the harassment yachties often seem to
encounter in some other countries.
Phuket, the only developed island on the coast has excellent nightlife, shops, markets and restaurants.
Basic
facilities such as places to buy fruit, vegetables, fuel and water are
found in many places. Also cheap beach restaurants, nevertheless
serving mouthwatering dishes can be found on many of the islands while
sailing Thailand.. |
